HÀ NỘI — AstraZeneca Vietnam has been awarded the LEED Gold certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) for its new office in Hà Nội, marking an important milestone in its sustainable development journey.

The recognition makes AstraZeneca the first innovative biopharmaceutical company in Việt Nam to receive this certification, underscoring its commitment to building a green workplace while advancing its global sustainability strategy.

Developed from October 2024 to June 2025, the Hà Nội office follows AstraZeneca’s global iWork design standard, supporting flexible and collaborative working models.

Modern amenities, ergonomic seating, private and shared workspaces and employee-friendly relaxation areas are designed to enhance well-being and productivity while fostering innovative thinking.

LEED v4 Interior Design and Construction is among the world’s most rigorous green building standards. It assesses projects on energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality, natural lighting, sustainable materials and waste reduction.

Achieving LEED Gold certification reaffirms AstraZeneca Vietnam’s commitment to creating a sustainable workplace for its employees and the broader community.

Atul Tandon, general director of AstraZeneca Vietnam, said this achievement showcases AstraZeneca’s commitment to environmental management and sustainable development in Việt Nam.

“The milestone reflects our efforts to create a healthier workplace for employees, minimise environmental impact, and support Việt Nam’s national goal towards green growth.”

The company has pledged US$310 million from 2020–30 to strengthen research and development, local manufacturing, and workforce training.

It is also investing $50 million in the AZ Forest programme for reforestation and biodiversity conservation, part of its global net-zero emissions target. — BIZHUB
