HÀ NỘI — Apple Việt Nam said discoloration reported between its iPad Pro 11-inch (M4) WiFi and Apple Pencil Pro does not affect performance or safety and that no systemic issues have been identified, the Việt Nam Competition Commission (VCC) said, citing the company’s report.
The VCC said it had received complaints from users about burn-like marks appearing at the magnetic charging point when the two devices were in use. The regulator asked Apple Việt Nam to report on the issue.
According to Apple’s report, the issue was likely caused by external factors including dust or moisture, and did not require a recall.
It added that the iPad Pro 11-inch (M4) WiFi complies with both international and Vietnamese IT equipment safety standards, though the Apple Pencil Pro is not covered by local certification rules. No systematic problems have been found with these two devices.
Cosmetic damage is not covered under the warranty policy, but both products are subject to one-year warranty in Việt Nam, the company said.
The VCC said that it would continue to follow feedback and urge the company to comply with the regulations to ensure legitimate rights for consumers. — VNS
