Instead of developing a service network from scratch, Bonbon operates as a digital layer connecting vehicle owners with existing garages.
HÀ NỘI — GenAI Fund has announced a continued investment in Bonbon Mobility, an online-to-offline (O2O) platform connecting vehicle owners with garages and car-care service providers, as the start-up enters a US$500,000 pre-seed funding round.
Bonbon emerged from Tasco Foundry Wash3000, a venture-building programme jointly developed by Tasco and GenAI Fund to identify, test and commercialise solutions addressing specific needs across Việt Nam's automotive service value chain.
"Bonbon is a successful product developed from Tasco's real business needs," said Laura Nguyễn, CEO and Managing Partner of GenAI Fund.
"The core value of the Venture Builder model is to turn a corporation's assets and scale into a launchpad that helps start-ups move faster while pushing teams to demonstrate their operational capabilities and the real value they deliver to users."
Bonbon targets a market estimated by the programme to comprise more than 12,500 car washing and care facilities, many of which remain independent operators with varying levels of standardisation and digitalisation.
Instead of developing a service network from scratch, Bonbon operates as a digital layer connecting vehicle owners with existing garages. Its O2O model is designed to aggregate fragmented supply and gradually standardise the customer experience, from car washing and regular care to maintenance, detailing and other vehicle lifecycle services.
Tasco provides access to its vehicle-owner base, distribution system, VETC, data, payment infrastructure and vehicle lifecycle services. GenAI Fund, meanwhile, supports venture design, market research, founder and start-up sourcing, proof-of-concept validation, go-to-market development, corporate venture capital and early-stage financing.
"The investment and support from Tasco and GenAI Fund provide additional resources for Bonbon to enter its next stage of development," said Nguyễn Chí Dũng, founder and CEO of Bonbon.
"We will focus on improving the technology platform, expanding our partner garage network and developing digital tools that help service providers improve operational efficiency and reach customers more conveniently."
Bonbon will still need to demonstrate service quality, user retention, operational efficiency and the value it delivers to garages before accelerating its expansion, according to the information provided.
The investment comes as Southeast Asia's capital market remains selective. Some data cited by GenAI Fund showed $2.81 billion was invested in the first quarter of 2026 across only 98 equity deals, the lowest transaction count in at least eight years. — BIZHUB/VNS
