HCM CITY — AICAP Group Joint Stock Company has announced strategic partnerships with the China Robotics Industry Development Alliance (CDRA), Hong Kong-based robotics group AIBRAIN, and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) to strengthen Việt Nam’s role in the global robotics value chain.

The partnerships were unveiled at a ceremony at the Green Growth Show in HCM City on October 26, which was attended by representatives of more than 30 leading regional robotics and artificial intelligence manufacturers, research institutes, businesses, and educational institutions.

The event also featured demonstrations of 30 robot models designed for use in various sectors.

Under an agreement between AICAP and AIBRAIN, the partners will develop a localised robotics commercialisation and operations platform, establishing an industrial cooperation framework to support robot sales, service, and operations.

AICAP and CDRA also signed a centralised procurement agreement targeting anticipated demand for up to 1,000 robots.

CDRA will coordinate its member organisations and mobilise global resources for complete robots, core technologies, and supporting products.

AIBRAIN will leverage its five-in-one integrated operating platform spanning technology, sales, manufacturing, data, and models to match products with market needs and operational requirements. AICAP will coordinate applications, business channels, and implementation partners in Việt Nam.

The cooperation will focus on applications such as floor-cleaning robots and ongoing operational services at hotels, shopping centres, office buildings, and industrial parks.

It will also cover robotics research, teaching, and training at universities and research institutes, along with robot demonstrations, exhibitions, and interactive experiences at tourist attractions and cultural events.

The agreement between AICAP, CDRA, and HUTECH aims to bridge the gap between businesses, academia, and industry needs. CDRA will connect technology, capital, and supply-chain resources to support research, solution integration, testing, and international cooperation across industrial, collaborative, humanoid, and service robotics.

The initiative will give Vietnamese engineers greater access to advanced technologies to develop solutions tailored to domestic needs.

Đỗ Thanh Sơn, chairman of AICAP, said the partnerships were driven by the practical needs of businesses, educational institutions, and research organisations.

He noted that beyond acquiring equipment, effective use depended on knowledge, talent, and ongoing technical support.

Pointing out that Vietnamese engineers' software and algorithm development capabilities are now on a par with regional standards, he said AICAP would harness this talent to help local companies build smart manufacturing ecosystems and boost their international competitiveness.

Lim Yu Liang, general director of AIBRAIN, said robot commercialisation depended on connecting technology with specific needs to generate value through practical use.

The company would work with partners to identify suitable products and develop services tailored to the Vietnamese market.

The initiative aligns with Việt Nam’s national strategy to promote science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation under Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and under Decision No. 1131/QĐ-TTg and Decision No. 21/2026/QĐ-TTg, which prioritise robotics and automation.

The Vietnam Industrial Robotics Market Size, Share & Forecast report valued the country's industrial robotics market at US$112 million in 2025 and projected compound annual growth of 12.88 per cent from now through 2031.

Meanwhile, IMARC Group’s Vietnam Smart Factory Market Report 2026–34 estimated that the country’s smart factory market exceeded $926 million in 2025 and could reach $2.14 billion by 2034. — VNS
