HÀ NỘI — Toyota Việt Nam has announced a recall programme to update the dashboard control software on several Toyota and Lexus models, covering a total of 7,579 vehicles.
The programme began on November 17 and will be carried out at all authorised Toyota and Lexus dealerships nationwide.
According to the published list, the Toyota Alphard is affected with a total of 344 units, including 93 vehicles manufactured between July 20, 2023, and May 19, 2025, and 251 vehicles produced between July 18, 2023, and May 14, 2025. Only one Camry is included in the recall, manufactured on July 23, 2024.
The Corolla Cross accounts for the largest number, with 5,135 units produced from January 25 to October 21, 2024, and another 1,488 units manufactured in the same period.
The Corolla line also includes nine units produced between October 6, 2023, and June 17, 2024, along with 471 units built between June 1, 2023 and October 22, 2024, and 58 units manufactured from January 16 to September 19, 2024.
In the luxury segment, Lexus has 73 vehicles subject to the recall. This includes 44 vehicles produced between November 17, 2023, and April 18, 2024, 27 units produced from January 15, 2024, to March 12, 2025, and two units manufactured on August 2, 2024.
Toyota stated that all affected vehicles are equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
During operation, the screen may fail to illuminate after the ignition is switched on, preventing the driver from seeing the speedometer, warning indicators and other essential information, thereby increasing the risk of an accident. — VNS
