Nine top Taiwanese tech firms met over 40 Vietnamese businesses at the “Taiwan Digital Day” in HCM City on July 30 to explore cooperation in smart tech and e-commerce.

HCM CITY — Nine leading Taiwanese technology companies specialising in smart cities, smart transportation, cybersecurity, smart energy, smart agriculture, e-commerce, and environmental governance met with over 40 Vietnamese enterprises at the “Taiwan Digital Day” business meeting held in HCM City on Wednesday.
Organised by the HCM City Computer Association (HCA) in collaboration with Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry (III), the event aimed to foster cooperation, technology exchange and the joint development of innovative solutions by Vietnamese and Taiwanese businesses.
During the business matching sessions, participating companies engaged in direct discussions to identify specific technology needs, propose pilot models and explore co-development and distribution strategies tailored to the Vietnamese market.
Lâm Nguyễn Hải Long, chairman of HCA, said: “Taiwan Digital Day is not only a business bridge but also a testament to the spirit of sustainable cooperation between Vietnamese and Taiwanese technology enterprises.
“Today’s meetings are not just for getting information or seeing products and solutions. They are the start of long-term work together. They will help create new chances for investing, sharing technology, growing markets, and making new value together.”
Võ Minh Thành, deputy director of the HCM City Department of Science and Technology, said: “Digital transformation in HCM City goes beyond adopting technology, it’s about building smart and sustainable urban models that place people and businesses at the centre of all technology policies.
“Today’s event reveals strong potential for cooperation between Taiwanese and HCM City enterprises, thanks to both their technological strengths and shared approaches to solving urban challenges particularly in energy management, cybersecurity, smart transportation, ESG, and high-tech agriculture.”
Vivian Huang, international cooperation strategy officer at III and head of the Taiwanese delegation, said: “III actively supports Taiwanese businesses in their global expansion and stands ready to assist Vietnamese enterprises in their international cooperation journey.
She believed the business matching sessions will lead to practical partnerships and help deepen the long-term economic relationship between Taiwan (China) and Việt Nam.
Beyond business matching sessions, the Taiwanese delegation also visited key Vietnamese organisations and enterprises, including the HCM City Union of Business Associations, CMC Corporation, VNG Corporation, Đại Dũng Corporation and Sao Bắc Đẩu Technology Group.
