ĐÀ NẴNG — Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) on February 25 officially launched new air routes linking Hà Nội and HCM City with Đà Nẵng, providing additional travel options on the country’s key air corridors and helping meet rising travel and tourism demand.
The airline’s first commercial flight from Hanoi departed at 6:15 am from Nội Bài International Airport and landed in Đà Nẵng later the same morning. Meanwhile, the flight from HCM City took off at 10:30 am from Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport, carrying the first passengers on the new service to the central coastal city.
Under its operational plan, the HCM City – Đà Nẵng route will operate two flights per day starting February 25. On the Hà Nội – Đà Nẵng route, the airline will also run two flights per day, with plans to increase the frequency to four flights daily from March 1 to meet market demand.

The airline plans to launch the Đà Nẵng – Phú Quốc route from March 15, gradually completing its network linking large tourist destinations.
It noted that the expansion of the route network is part of its development strategy, with Phú Quốc serving as the central hub. By the end of February, the airline had operated a fleet of 10 aircraft and secured all safety and maintenance certificates in accordance with regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
On February 18, Sun PhuQuoc Airways signed an agreement to purchase 40 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft in a deal valued at about US$22.5 billion in Washington D.C. The agreement provides a foundation for opening long-haul routes in the future and developing a large-scale fleet by 2030, the carrier said.
The launch of the new routes is expected to help promote trade and tourism among Hà Nội, HCM City and Đà Nẵng while enhancing linkages among the country’s key tourism centres. — VNS
