Phú Mỹ Hưng Development Corporation has announced plans to relocate its real-estate trading centre after more than two decades at the Lawrence S. Ting Building in Phú Mỹ Hưng City Centre.
HCM CITY — Phú Mỹ Hưng Development Corporation has announced plans to relocate its real-estate trading centre after more than two decades at the Lawrence S. Ting Building in Phú Mỹ Hưng City Centre.
From October 1, 2026, the centre will operate at Crescent Residence 3, at 109 Tôn Dật Tiên Street in the Crescent Lake District.
The move is part of preparations to clear the site for a new-generation mixed-use complex on the approximately 2.1-hectare C1 plot, under the Phú Mỹ Hưng 2.0 plan.
The 12-storey Lawrence S. Ting Building, at 801 Nguyễn Văn Linh Boulevard, opened in 2004 as the developer’s headquarters. In addition to office space, it has hosted domestic and international delegations and experts visiting to work, tour and learn about the Phú Mỹ Hưng urban area.
After Phú Mỹ Hưng Tower, at 8 Hoàng Văn Thái Street in Tân Mỹ Ward, and the second phase of Crescent Mall opened in 2020, several Phú Mỹ Hưng departments and businesses leasing office space continued to operate from the Lawrence S. Ting Building.
Phú Mỹ Hưng is developing a mixed-use complex on the C1 plot, which is expected to include high-end retail, a hotel, Grade A offices and serviced apartments.
The 1.5-hectare plot is in the International Commercial and Financial District, at the gateway to the urban area. The planned 23-storey complex is envisioned as an architectural landmark, with nearly 100,000sq.m of floor space. It will include a hotel, Grade A offices, serviced apartments and a high-end shopping centre.
Japanese architectural firm Nihon Sekkei is designing the project. The firm has worked on notable buildings in Tokyo, including the Azabudai Hills complex.
The re-development marks a shift from an office building to a multifunctional urban destination, intended to serve the evolving needs of residents, experts and businesses.
Phú Mỹ Hưng announced its new urban development strategy, Phú Mỹ Hưng 2.0, in 2024. The plan aims to enhance the urban area through landscape improvements, expanded commercial and service amenities, and investment in healthcare, arts and cultural facilities, as well as urban experiences that meet international standards.
The strategy’s first phase includes major projects in key areas such as the International Commercial and Financial District, Crescent Lake, the Sports and Healthcare District, and the Canal District.
According to the developer, the phase includes projects with total investment of tens of trillions of đồng, covering landscape upgrades, commercial and service facilities, arts and culture, healthcare and housing.
While Phú Mỹ Hưng’s focus in the early 21st century was on establishing a modern urban area, the 2.0 strategy aims to develop an international urban ecosystem where residents can live, work, shop, access healthcare and enjoy arts, entertainment and other services. — BIZHUB
