Việt Nam’s growing pet-care market is creating new opportunities for businesses, with Petfair Vietnam set to hold its first Hà Nội edition in November.

HÀ NỘI — The pre-show event for Grand Season Festival 2026 was held in Hà Nội on Wednesday, ahead of Petfair Vietnam, Hà Nội Edition – A Grand Season Festival 2026, scheduled for November 18-21 at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre (VEC).
The event brought together representatives from pet industry associations, businesses and media organisations to discuss market trends and opportunities in Việt Nam’s growing pet-care sector.
Pets are increasingly regarded as family members in Việt Nam, driving demand for pet food, nutrition, veterinary care, grooming, accessories and other specialised services.
According to Mordor Intelligence, Việt Nam’s pet food market was estimated at US$155.5 million in 2025 and is forecast to reach $243.7 million by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.4 per cent during 2025-30.
The market is also seeing greater participation from younger pet owners, while demand is shifting towards more comprehensive and professional services.
At the pre-show event, Thúy Trần, founder of Pety, discussed consumer behaviour and purchasing trends in Việt Nam’s pet market, with a focus on opportunities during the year-end shopping season.
Dr Vương Tuấn Phong, a veterinarian and lecturer at HUTECH University, examined the links between veterinary care, pet services and commerce in developing the sector’s value chain.
The event also featured the signing of memoranda of understanding with partners and industry organisations. The organisers said the agreements were aimed at expanding business networks and facilitating cooperation between domestic and international organisations.
Petfair Vietnam, traditionally held in HCM City, will hold its Hà Nội edition for the first time this year under the Grand Season Festival format.
The exhibition is expected to cover about 10,000sq.m, with more than 500 businesses and brands and around 50,000 visitors from over 20 countries and territories, according to the organisers.
The event will combine business-to-business and business-to-consumer activities. A B2B Zone, Business Connect Lounge and Seminar Room will provide spaces for businesses and professional buyers to meet, while the Made in Vietnam Pet Showcase will feature Vietnamese pet products and brands.
The programme will also include areas focused on pet health and veterinary knowledge, as well as pet adoption, reptiles, pet creators, breed meet-ups, competitions and Christmas-themed activities.
The Hà Nội edition is expected to give businesses access to distributors, importers, retailers and consumers in northern Việt Nam, as the pet-care market continues to expand beyond its traditional commercial centres. — BIZHUB
