HÀ NỘI — Nearly 7,000 students and teachers nationwide have received advanced technology training through the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) 2024-2025, which wrapped up on Thursday in Hà Nội.

The initiative, launched in November 2024, was designed to strengthen the digital skills of Vietnamese youth aged 12 to 22 — a generation expected to play a leading role in the country’s digital transformation. Courses included Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data and basic Coding & Programming, delivered through both online platforms and classroom sessions.

After almost a year of implementation, the programme was rolled out to 69 schools in 10 provinces and cities, recording more than 40,600 classroom hours and 9,500 e-learning hours. Beyond technical knowledge, students also received training in career orientation and soft skills to better prepare them for future job opportunities.

Samsung said SIC has become one of its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, running in 40 countries since 2019. In Việt Nam, the programme has so far reached 140 schools in 18 provinces and trained nearly 20,000 students and teachers.

A highlight of this year’s cycle was the “Innovation Tech Challenge 2025”, a robotics competition themed “Robot Cup – Robot Football”. Twenty-five teams from universities and high schools nationwide competed with robots programmed to play football using AI, image processing and sensor technologies. After intense matches, the LQĐ-Piogineers from Lê Quý Đôn High School for the Gifted in Đà Nẵng and DTU-TT from Duy Tân University were crowned champions.

At the closing ceremony, Samsung also awarded 98 scholarships to outstanding students of the programme.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bùi Hoàng Phương said: “Developing high-quality human resources is a decisive factor for Việt Nam’s sustainable growth. Samsung Innovation Campus is a clear example of how businesses can contribute to this vision.”

Na Ki Hong, General Director of Samsung Việt Nam, stressed the company’s long-term commitment. “Together with Government and schools, we will continue to support Vietnamese youth to seize today’s opportunities and lead tomorrow’s digital future,” he said. — VNS
