HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Public Security has received the ownership rights for State-owned shares in FPT Telecom Joint Stock Company.
The ceremony for the transfer of the State ownership rights in FPT Telecom from the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) to the MPS took place in Hà Nội on Wednesday.
The transfer of the State ownership rights in FPT Telecom from SCIC to the MPS is in line with the Party and State's policy of restructuring and improving the effectiveness of State-owned enterprises.
This aims to strengthen the MPS's capacity to fulfil its tasks related to national security protection and maintaining social order and safety, especially in the areas of cybersecurity, information security and specialised telecommunications.
At the ceremony, SCIC General Director Nguyễn Quốc Huy confirmed that the move was made to ensure data security, national digital sovereignty and cybersecurity in the new era.
He expressed confidence that the MPS would continue to leverage its potential and create more favourable conditions for FPT Telecom to grow stronger, playing an important role in Project 06, which aims to build a digital government, digital society and national data platforms.
Major General Phạm Trường Giang, director of the MPS' Financial Planning Department, said that functional units under the ministry would continue to work with relevant units to complete the transfer procedures, ensuring a synchronised, efficient and stable process for implementation.
Giang added that legal frameworks will also be perfected, and policies will be put into place to stabilise the organisation, allowing FPT Telecom staff to continue contributing and excelling in their production and business tasks. — VNS
