Building on last year’s success, the campaign continues to highlight seven common types of scams, including romance, investment and job scams.

HÀ NỘI — To mark Vietnam Cybersecurity Day (August 6), Meta has launched its “'Decode Scam 2025' campaign under the theme 'Is This Legit?'.
The initiative promotes critical thinking and scam awareness in the digital space.
Building on last year’s success, the campaign continues to highlight seven common types of scams - fake messages, romance frauds, investment traps, impersonation, online shopping scams, fake job offers, and account hacking.
This year, Meta has partnered with Eyeyah! to introduce an interactive game based on real-life scenarios, helping users identify and avoid scams. Popular Vietnamese gaming creators such as Mèo Simmy, Ngân Sát Thủ and Tùng Họa Mi will also join the campaign.
Meta says user safety remains its top priority. Since 2016, the company has invested over US$30 billion in security, with 40,000 employees working on safety issues. In 2024, Meta removed over 15,000 scam-related URLs in Việt Nam and disrupted millions of fake accounts worldwide.
Khoi Le, Meta’s Country Director for Việt Nam, said the campaign reflects Meta’s long-term commitment to building a safe and trustworthy online environment through education, awareness, and technology.
He said: “We believe that empowering users with the right knowledge, awareness and digital skills is essential to helping them proactively protect themselves against increasingly sophisticated scams.
Through a combination of creative communication, accessible content, and interactive experiences like simulation games, this year’s campaign aims to encourage users to develop habits of verifying and thinking critically before engaging or sharing information online.” — BIZHUB
