PHÚ THỌ — Mango growers in Phú Thọ have hit a juicy milestone, as the province exported its first-ever batch of frozen mangoes to South Korea this week – marking a breakthrough for local agriculture on the global stage.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Sub-department of Plant Production and Protection, in coordination with Tiến Ngân Trading Investment Company Limited, held a ceremony on Tuesday to celebrate the landmark shipment.

Tiến Ngân signed a contract to export 24 tonnes of frozen mangoes – handling the purchase, processing, packaging, and direct export of the fruit to the South Korean market.

This inaugural shipment not only opens the door for Phú Thọ mangoes to enter South Korea – a key trading partner with whom Việt Nam has signed a free trade agreement – but also sets the stage for other local agricultural products to follow.

The move is expected to boost confidence in Phú Thọ’s produce and facilitate access to other high-standard, high-value international markets. — BIZHUB
