HÀ NỘI — A digital broadcasting platform developed by Thu Do Multimedia has received recognition at the 2026 Sao Khue Awards, reflecting the growing role of Vietnamese firms in building locally developed digital infrastructure solutions.
Sigma OTT End-to-End, developed by Thu Do Multimedia, was honoured in the Media Tech category at the awards ceremony organised by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) last week in Hà Nội.
The platform is designed to manage the full digital broadcasting process, from content transmission to delivery across televisions, smartphones and web platforms. According to the company, the system consolidates functions that are often handled through multiple foreign software vendors.
The platform has been deployed by several broadcasters and telecom operators in Việt Nam, including VTV Go and VTVcab, as local media companies seek greater control over digital operations and content distribution systems.
Industry observers say dependence on overseas technology providers remains common in Việt Nam’s broadcasting and streaming sectors, particularly for cloud infrastructure, content protection and user management systems.
One component of the platform, Sigma Multi-DRM, focuses on digital rights management and anti-piracy protection. The company said the system has received certification from Cartesian, an international content security auditing organisation.
Content piracy continues to be a major challenge for broadcasters and streaming services, especially for premium sports and entertainment content, where unauthorised distribution can result in substantial revenue losses.
The broader Sigma product ecosystem has also received previous industry recognition. Sigma OTT and Sigma DRM were named among Hà Nội’s key industrial products in 2024 and 2025, while Sigma Smart Detect was included in the Top 10 Make in Vietnam digital solutions in 2024.
Thu Do Multimedia said it is exploring opportunities in India and Southeast Asia, where demand for OTT and IPTV infrastructure is expanding alongside rapid growth in digital content consumption.
