HCM CITY — Global cybersecurity and digital privacy company Kaspersky has announced new long-term investments and strategic initiatives to expand its market footprint in Việt Nam.

It reiterated its commitment to developing local expertise, advancing cybersecurity education and making its global technologies more accessible to Vietnamese users.

The announcement coincides with the opening of its permanent office in Việt Nam, one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital economies.

Khanh Ngo, the company’s country manager for Việt Nam, said: “Việt Nam is where the next chapter of our cybersecurity journey continues to grow.

“Our local presence is not just about expansion, but about understanding the market deeply to invest more effectively in people, technologies and partnerships that will also contribute to the improvement of the security of Việt Nam’s digital future.”

The new office enhances Kaspersky’s engagement with government agencies, enterprises and research institutions, helping it better understand the country’s unique cybersecurity challenges and opportunities, he said.

Building on this foundation, Kaspersky plans to invest further in developing local engineering capabilities and technical programmes through partner training, expertise sharing from its global research centres, and collaborative regional projects, he added.

Education is a key pillar of the company’s long-term sustainability strategy, and it continues to expand partnerships with local universities and cybersecurity academies to nurture future professionals.

Recently it signed a memorandum of understanding with the People Security Academy of Việt Nam.

Indigenisation is another cornerstone of Kaspersky’s strategy in Việt Nam. Its key products and services are now fully available in Vietnamese, from interfaces and notifications to technical documentation and customer support to benefit both individual users and enterprises.

A major milestone is the launch of the Kaspersky Security Awareness Platform in Vietnamese.

The platform helps organisations strengthen employee awareness and reduce cybersecurity risks caused by human error, one of the leading causes of cyber incidents.

Simon Tung, Kaspersky’s general manager for Southeast Asia, said: “Việt Nam is a strategic territory for us and it is our priority to bring our core technologies closer to local users. Localisation is how we make cybersecurity truly relevant and effective for every market we serve.” — VNS
