HÀ NỘI – From “Digital Shield” to digital sovereignty, FPT Corporation reaffirmed Việt Nam’s technological leadership and readiness to partner with the Government and the international community in building a safe, autonomous, and humane cyberspace for a strong Việt Nam in the digital age.
FPT Corporation participated in the opening ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (Hanoi Convention) and the International Exhibition held within the framework of the event. The corporation accompanied the Vietnamese Government in its commitment to developing a secure, self-reliant, and sustainable digital ecosystem, while strengthening public–private partnerships to safeguard information security and national digital sovereignty.
The Hanoi Convention marks the first United Nations legal framework dedicated to preventing and combating cybercrime. This historic event is a milestone for Vietnam as the host of the world’s first global convention on cybersecurity underscoring the country’s proactive, innovative, and responsible role in promoting an open, secure, and peaceful digital future.
“The future of the world is a digital future,” said Trương Gia Bình, Chairman of FPT Corporation. “Artificial intelligence is already performing many tasks better than humans in specific fields. As we live, work, and communicate in the digital realm, cybersecurity will become a matter of survival for every organisation and nation.
The Hanoi Convention represents a symbolic turning point — the first time the United Nations has signed a global legal framework in Việt Nam demonstrating that our country is not just a participant but also a creator and initiator of global solutions.”
Bình emphasised that cybersecurity is a top national priority for Vietnam’s technology sector, with the public–private co-creation model being the nation’s unique strength in defending digital sovereignty.
In recent years, FPT has invested heavily in research and development to enhance its comprehensive cybersecurity ecosystem, grounded in a philosophy of proactive security and powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Each year, FPT implements more than 1,500 cybersecurity projects, achieving 400% faster incident response times and significantly minimizing digital risks.
FPT’s security management systems are certified to leading international standards, including ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27017:2015, ISO/IEC 27018:2019, PCI DSS, SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 3, ISO/SAE 21434, and Level 4 Information Security Certification for cloud computing platforms. Its Security Operations Centers (SOCs) are also CREST-certified, the highest international benchmark in cybersecurity.
In addition, FPT University is one of Việt Nam’s few institutions offering an advanced curriculum in information security, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for the national cybersecurity industry. — VNS
