ĐÀ NẴNG – Đà Nẵng has been speeding up cooperation and discussions with European and Indian partners in the development of the first Việt Nam International Financial Centre in the central city (VNIFC-DN), making it a hub for national and regional fintech, innovation and green finance.
Vice President of the VNIFC-DN Executive Agency Đặng Đình Đức said the agency held a working visit with European partners during a trip to the EU. Partners include Paris Europlace, a unique network of all stakeholders in a Paris-based financial centre with 600 companies in the financial ecosystem, and Mirova, an asset management company and an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers.
Đức said the two partners discussed opportunities in building the financial ecology system at VNIFC-DN, sharing experience in policy making strategy, workforce training, databases and financial statements, focused on official operations of the first finance hub in central Việt Nam.
The two partners also agreed to host expertise exchange programmes in the near future, and hold international conferences and forums on finance.
Representatives of Paris Europlace expressed appreciation for the establishment of VNIFC-DN as a new finance centre and sustainable finance ecology system in the Asia-Pacific.
Đà Nẵng is also seeking cooperation with Mirova to enhance financial investment solutions with environmental and social impact, as well as green finance, carbon credit trade and investment in nature and nature-based projects. City authorities are hoping to raise international funds for sustainable development in Đà Nẵng and across Việt Nam.
Đức said Đà Nẵng and Mirova would offer long-term mechanisms for cooperation and consulting for the green transition process in Việt Nam, setting up the central city as an international green finance hub.
Digital asset management, cryptocurrency, tokenisation and the capital and bond market were also topics included in the working session with Mirova, he added.
VNIFC-DN also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gujarat International Finance Tec-City in India, hoping to gain guidance from the Indian partner's practical experience in operating an IFC.
The MoU involved joint research programmes on developing a financial ecosystem, promoting innovation and investment, workforce training and business links between the two sides, Đức said.
Both partners also agreed to set up regular strategic dialogues in IFC centre infrastructure and integrated financial services at the Đà Nẵng IFC in the years to come.
Earlier this year, Đà Nẵng organised investment promotion programmes with partners in Switzerland, including Citi Group, Vauban Infrastructure Partner, SwissCham Asia, Cambridge Ventures, the Swiss FinTech Association and the Tether–Lithuanian Cryptocurrency Economic Organisation, an association representing the fintech and blockchain ecosystem of Lithuania.
It also held an investment promotion programme with Coinbase in the US, one of the world's largest digital asset exchanges, on building and monitoring the digital asset market and providing consultancy in developing the VNIFC-DN.
The city introduced 12 key organisations and financial institutions as members of the Đà Nẵng IFC, including Makara Capital Việt Nam Holding, Bybit Technology Việt Nam, Đà Nẵng Fintech Lab, Siglaw IFC, DTC Pay Việt Nam, APEX Việt Nam IFC Services, Valverde Investment partners, Misa Novafinx and Remi Tech.
It has set a target of attracting at least five fintech businesses with revenues of over VNĐ1 trillion (US$38 million) yearly, with at least two or three of them employing 1,000 people by the end of 2030.
Đà Nẵng will host the Việt Nam Financial Forum 2026 at Ariyana Convention Centre Đà Nẵng on July 9-10, bringing together approximately 350 experts, leaders, policymakers, financial institutions, investors, entrepreneurs and representatives from the fintech, banking, capital markets and financial infrastructure sectors in Việt Nam and around the world.
