MANILA — VinFast Auto Philippines, V-Green Charging Station Development Philippines and Green and Smart Mobility Philippines have joined forces with BDO Unibank in a strategic partnership to speed up the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the country.

This collaboration aims to make EVs more accessible to consumers and businesses while supporting the Philippines’ transition to clean energy. VinFast Philippines, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC, will leverage BDO’s comprehensive financial services, including cash management, consumer banking, leasing and insurance. Tailored financing programmes for retail and corporate customers will also be introduced.

“At VinFast, we view sustainable transportation as more than just a technological shift — it’s a commitment to future generations,” said Deputy CEO of Global Sales at VinFast Duong Thi Thu Trang. “Partnering with BDO, a trusted and forward-thinking financial institution, empowers Filipinos with greater access to EVs while shaping a smarter, greener and more liveable urban future.”

The partnership also bolsters the expansion of EV charging infrastructure. V-Green has secured approval to install charging stations at four SM Supermalls, with plans to extend across Alfamart outlets, educational institutions and other key locations within the BDO–SM network.

“Charging infrastructure is essential for sustainable EV growth,” said CEO of V-Green Nguyen Thanh Duong. “Through BDO’s support, we can fast-track the rollout of reliable charging solutions, making EV adoption more practical and scalable nationwide.”

Meanwhile, Green GSM Philippines, the country’s first all-electric taxi operator powered by VinFast vehicles, has been integrated with BDO’s digital banking platform since its launch in June 2025, streamlining driver onboarding and expansion.

“Our mission is to deliver cleaner, safer and more transparent public transport,” said CEO of Green GSM Philippines Dao Quy Phi. “This partnership enhances driver support, enables sustainable fleet growth and helps reduce emissions while modernising urban mobility in the Philippines.”

BDO underscored its commitment to green growth.

“Our collaboration with VinFast, V-Green and Green GSM supports the wider adoption of EVs and the development of green infrastructure in the country,” said BDO Unibank Executive Vice President and Head of the Institutional Banking Group Charles M. Rodriguez,. “By offering the right financial solutions, we are enabling businesses to drive a future-ready transport sector.”

Together, VinFast, V-Green and Green GSM are shaping a comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem in the Philippines, from EV distribution and charging infrastructure to electric taxi operations. With BDO’s financial backing and the SM Group’s extensive network, the partnership aims to expand mobility, modernise transport and contribute to the nation’s long-term development goals. — VNS
