HÀ NỘI — Hồng Lĩnh Education will provide free artificial intelligence (AI) training for 1,000 teachers and 10,000 students in Hà Nội in October and November.

The programme supports the Ministry of Education and Training’s AI education framework for schools under Decision No 2422/QĐ-BGDĐT and the Politburo’s Resolution No 57-NQ/TW on developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

The programme has three components: AI training for teachers, career guidance and digital safety for parents and students, and practical AI courses for high school students.

Teachers learn to use AI to prepare digital lesson plans and teaching materials and develop new approaches to testing and assessment. They will also receive professional materials and expert support throughout the school year. Meanwhile, forums for parents and students will cover career opportunities in the AI era and the safe, responsible use of AI.

The programme was first launched at Nhân Chính High School in Hà Nội in October, with teachers learning how to use AI to prepare lesson plans, develop teaching materials and design tests.

During a 120-minute training session, teachers practised using AI to create lesson plans and questions with answers for their own subjects.

The programme also includes a free 10-session AI foundation course for high school students. Each session requires students to create a practical product, such as a set of prompts for a chosen subject or a personal AI learning assistant.

Students are expected to complete the course and receive certificates in November. Those who finish can continue with the AI57 programme, which offers six modules across four levels of AI engineering training through the Vietnam AI Academy.

Nguyễn Đức Long, a member of the AI57 programme’s advisory council, said preparing future technology talent should start at school rather than wait until university. He said the programme would measure its success by practical outcomes, with each teacher completing a lesson plan and each student creating their own product.

Long said: “Success is not measured by the number of participants, but by teachers’ ability to apply AI effectively in teaching and students’ ability to create practical technology products themselves.”

Hồng Lĩnh Education plans to expand the programme to more high schools in Hà Nội and neighbouring localities during the 2026-27 academic year, and inviting interested schools to take part in the course. — BIZHUB/VNS
